Sandwell Community Hubs is committed to supporting the Sandwell Council in giving the community, voluntary, and faith organisations what they need to pass on digital skills to the people they work with whilst also upscaling their own work widen impact and increase their chances of attracting resources. In the delivery of the Programme, we are seeking to find external funding solutions to ensure the legacy of iSandwell involving:
iSandwell Website & Social Media: To continue to build on and maintain the iSandwell website to hold learning resources from iSandwell Academy workshops and capture thoughts from the local community via the iSandwell Blog. It will also be expanded to house toolkits and learning from various campaigns ran through the Digital Champion network.
Digital Champions: Add an extra level of infrastructure to the already existing satellite volunteer program consisting of 6 local ambassadors based in each of Sandwell’s towns to ensure there is a hyperlocal narrative that is relative to the people who live there.
iSandwell Lab: Monthly meetup of community members, third sector, volunteers and Council members to set and discuss iSandwell Digital Champion themes. With this we will also give iSandwell community members the opportunity to work more cohesively around the digital agenda.
iSandwell Academy: Deliver workshops with relevant themes set by the communities needs taken from iSandwell Lab themes and Digital Champion work developing iSandwell Academy workshops such as Code Club and train Digital Champions.
iSandwell Accelerator: To build on the success of the iSandwell Accelerator and the work that came out of it.
Engagement: Hold iSandwell Roadshow events when it is needed and develop the 2019 edition of iSandwell Camp. Also look into how a new way of thinking for Sandwell third sector to best utilise techniques such as using open data for change and how civic tech via meetups and workshops.
